I’m a pseudo athlete and pseudo vegan living/loving life in busy city New York City. I started this blog as an outlet for the two things I love the most, cooking and running. My diet is a mix of vegan and vegetarian meals but I also eat meat a few times a week. You will find my recipes are great for non-vegans who are looking to eat a more whole and nutritious diet.
I’ve been interesting in cooking all my life but my passion for running didn’t start until I moved to the city. Hours of sitting at my desk left me needing to find a way to release my stress. I started out in boot camp and boxing classes and eventually stumbled upon running.The first race I ever ran was the OKC Memorial Half Marathon in my home state Oklahoma. I wouldn’t say I was hooked to begin with but my love for running grew as I got my body/mind in better shape. It also helped that several of my friends were getting into the sport. Some where between my third and fourth half marathon I got turned on to the idea of finishing a half marathon in every state. I can’t think of a better way to combine my love of traveling and running. It’s also a great way to see my friends who live in all corners of the U S of A.
My story is simple and I hope that the honesty in my blog strikes a chord with many of you. Not every workout or recipe is perfect but I know that I’ll get right back at it the next day. Pushing harder in my training and using all those long runs to think of new ideas in the kitchen!
