Going to the 2014 Sochi Olympic games was a trip of a life time for me…
There are so many things to cover that I don’t even know where to start. I decided to break this photo bump into three post because there are just so many pictures! Here are some highlights.
A) Moscow is really nice for about a day and a half. Then your over it.
B) Russian food is not the best and meat (literally meat, meaning any type or combination of meat) is the main course.
C) The Sochi games were an extremely well organized event and I felt safe 110% of the time.
D) I got to meet so many amazing athletes but the top meet and greet was my favorite athlete Apolo Anton Ohno. More on that in another post. More on this in another post.
Pictures from Moscow and days 1-3 at the games.
Short Track Speed Skating 1000M Qualification Rounds and the A & B Final in the Team Relay. Short track is my favorite olympic sport. It is such an exciting game to watch and you never know what is going to happen. Here American Jessica Smith moved on to the quarter semifinals and the Koreans took gold in the team relay.
Every night the medals were handed out in a big medal ceremony to the Olympians who won that day. It was an amazing experience to see Meryl Davis and Charlie White receive their gold medals and hear the national anthem being played.
Scenes from around the Coastal Cluster Olympic Park. I did a lot of research on curling last week. It’s such a great game to watch. The picture below was for the finals qualification. Canada beat the UK to go onto the gold and silver match.
Sochi organizers must have taken a page from Disney because it was an extremely well organized event. The only thing we were missing was good food (everything was HORRIBLE) and Americans. I was sad to see that US media detoured to many people from coming to cheer on our athletes.
Post number two coming up Friday. The pictures took me all day to upload today. Inflight wi-fi is really bad. After two nights at home I’m back on the road in Mexico. Jet lag is killing me!!!
