Vegan Halloween Candy

I’m being a Scrooge this year and not dressing up for Halloween. It’s not because I don’t want to… it’s because we are flying to Columbus Thursday night ahead of a family wedding. I had the best idea EVER too! Hanna Montana. I figure that there will be lots of Miley’s out there so why not do a throw back. Such a sad waste of a great idea. Perhaps I will inspire some of you.

Anyways onto the post about vegan Halloween candy. I love holidays that celebrate with candy, mainly Easter and Halloween. This year in the interest of me dropping a few pounds I have steered clear of any and all Halloween candy. Even my favorite, candy corn pumpkins.

I’m going to be honest, initially it was difficult to avoid but my stomach is really thinking me. Sugar = stomach ache, headache and weight gain for me. While I have a horrid sweet tooth and could never give up sweets 100% I feel like I’m saving up my sweet ration for Thanksgiving which is just around the bend!

If you can’t shake that sweet tooth,┬áhere are some better for you vegan options:

  • Charm Blow Pops
  • Cliff Kid Twisted Fruit
  • Ginger People Gin Gins
  • Mamba Fruit Chews
  • Skittles
  • Sour Patch Kids
  • Swedish Fish
  • Sweet and Sara’s Marshmallows
  • Fireballs
  • Mary Janes
  • Cleo’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • Maple Candy
  • Equal Exchange Dark Chocolate Bites
  • Justin’s Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Keep an eye out for gummies because gelatin is an animal by-product. If the candy is kosher its is most likely vegan.

My favorite on the list are Gin Gin’s, I have a slight ginger obsession. What is your favorite Halloween Candy?

  1. Have a good time at the wedding! Thanks for sharing the vegan candy. If you’re looking to stay away from white sugar, brown rice syrup and maple sugar make great replacements in recipes! :)

The pumpkins are my favorite too! I broke down and bought one bag but then ended up tossing the rest because it hurt my stomach. It really is about picking and choosing :) I’m right there, waiting for the pumpkin pie to be served!
