Will Power

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about will power.

Will power to work hard.

Will power to eat right.

Will power to clean my house.

Will power to love.

Do I really have it?

How come it’s so easy to have the will power to do the things you love but it’s so hard to do the things that don’t come natural to you? After work yesterday I had a lot of chores to do to get ready for some family visitors this weekend. I was so wiped by the time I got home I really didn’t want to clean house. In fact I found it very hard to get off the couch. Will Power…

This week has been a really rough week for me. I’ve been injured and had to take off a week from my Insanity workout program and I’ve just not been feeling well. My poor friends and family that have had to put up with me. I need some serious will power to get out of this funk!

Sorry for the somber post leading into the weekend. Hopefully a few days off work will help. I have a three day weekend thanks to May Day and the weather is supposed to be wonderful.

What do you do when you find yourself lacking will power?

  1. I totally understand!! When I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is clean my house or do laundry or even make dinner is a challenge sometimes. Ironically, sometimes a delicious healthy meal is just what I need to start to feel good about me. I’d enjoy the sun and family this weekend and just know that next week is a new week! :)

I struggle with this too (I think we all do to some degree). Yesterday afternoon my heart wasn’t in my work, I went home, flopped on the bed, and start organizing my dvd shelf. It was a mess, and I didn’t even properly finish, but once I got into it and my family got home, I helped put groceries away and felt a little better. I think by asking my mom if she needed help with anything I stopped focusing on my own funk just a little bit.

Such a good post for me right now! I’m lacking will power for everything that’s not playing in the sun! I do know that when I’m productive I feel less stressed though.

  5. I’m new to your blog but just wanted to stop and give a cheery high 5 to you. We all get feeling like this from time to time, I’ve actually been feeling very much the same lately. I’ve been feeling so tired lately that the littlest things I have no control over and then I do things like eat a awful meal which leaves me feeling 100% guilty after. When I can must up the energy, a good workout solves it for me. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
