My sweet tooth has a hard time understanding that I’m 16 days away from being on the beach in Hawaii… Fortunately I love fruit and it helps calm my sweet tooth down, but sometimes I just need a little more.
What is a girl to do when she needs a sweet treat for dessert but does not want to go too crazy? Why not melt some vegan chocolate and slather it on a banana! Ghirardelli makes high quality chocolate chips that are vegan if you can believe it. Melt those tasty bad boys in your microwave and you are halfway to dessert.
Chocolate Topped Bananas – Vegan
1 Half a Large Banana
1 Serving of Ghirardelli’s Chocolate Chips (32 chips)
1) Slice your banana into 1/4th to 1/2 an inch chunks.
2) Melt your chocolate chips in a very small glass or plastic dish. Microwave 1 minute then stir with a small spatula. Microwave 40 seconds more and stir, add an additional 20-30 seconds to get the chocolate really hot! It cools very fast and gets hard to work with.
3) Using your spatula top each piece of banana with a good portion of the melted chocolate. Place the sliced banana topped with chocolate onto a plate.
4) When you are all done you can add some sprinkles if you’d like. Place in the fridge for 20 minutes to harden the chocolate.
Vola! Your guilt free dessert is ready.
You can make this before dinner and have it handy for after you eat. It couldn’t be easier or healthier.
It’s not the prettiest dessert but it’s definately worth the 5 minutes it takes to throw together!
