Spicy lemonade is the basis of the master cleanse. You know the cleanse that only someone who is paid to look good could actually do…
I am not paid to look good and could NEVER just drink spicy lemonade for two weeks. However that does not stop me from enjoying a glass of the sweet and spicy drink. Spicy lemonade serves as a nice pick me up, kerbs my sweet tooth and gets me through many afternoons.
You can easily spend 6-8 bucks on a pre-maid version of this juice, or you can make your own for a fraction of the cost! Made of fresh squeezed lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water, this juice is tasty. If you haven’t tried it I hope you do. Dont be afraid of the pepper, it adds a surprisingly tasty kick to the fresh juice.
Spicy Lemonade: Makes one large glass

8 Ounces Filtered Water
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Shake all the ingredients together and sip freshly made!
Juice cleanses are all the rave right now. I’m looking forward to checking out a couple of different cleanses. I think a day or two here and there is what I plan to do going forward.
There were three different juicing companies at the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival this weekend. Here are some photos and highlight from the expo! The best part of the expo were the samples galore. I feel like I learned a lot about vegan protein textures and got to sample products that I’ve always wanted to buy!
Me and my friend Megan who braved the hour plus line to get inside with me!
Vegan Shrimp make of yam flour… SOOO GOOD! Can’t wait to share a new recipe and details on this product with you.
A couple of other great companies were:
Both had great “chorizo” and “sausage” options.
We also got to sample a few vegan ice creams which were tasty. Over all a really fun event. I will definitely going back next year, but with VIP tickets so I do not have to wait in line!
I am very excited to share with you tomorrow recipe. Three words. Best sandwich ever!
