Sorry for the delayed post. I’ve been trying to get back on a schedule since getting in late Monday but it hasn’t quite happened yet! I do not to jet lag well
The first few days I was in London working pretty hard, lots of entertaining and meeting with clients and old co-workers. Plus I got to get to know my new co-workers. It was a great week and I’m happy that i got to learn so much from our London office. As much fun as I had during the week I was so happy when Peter flew over last Friday. I missed him and hadn’t had that much time to chat with him all week because of my busy work schedule. Friday was my birthday so we went out to celebrate. For some reason this birthday didn’t seem like one that I wanted to celebrate. Hopefully I can get back into birthday happiness next year. 25 years old… my how time flies!
Saturday morning we slept in very late, I can’t remember when the last time we slept in until 9:30! It felt so good after my long sleep deprived week. The itinerary for the day was a nice walk along the south bank sightseeing and a stop for lunch at Borough Market (a foodies paradise!). After lunch we headed to catch a “football” game at the Stadium in Chelsea. That night Peter had planned a very nice anniversary dinner at the OXO tower which has some of the best views in London. It was one of the best days/ night we have had in a long time. And we really lucked out with the weather!
Sunday we got up and went for an adventuring run around Hyde Park and their “museum mile” It was really nice to be moving around. I hadn’t worked out all week. Again we had fantastic weather! Much to our surprise we literally ran into a half marathon happening in the park. Next year i must remember to check and sign up for the race! After that we did a bit more touring around.
Monday morning we had a very nice breakfast in Notting Hill followed by a bit of shopping before heading to the airport. We really couldn’t have asked for a better weekend getaway. Although we had a good time I’m ready to get back into my the groove and gear up for my marathon. T-Minus 10 days!!! I gave my legs a much needed rest last week so lets hope that paid off!
